Old A30 Closure

Old A30 closure and diversion routes- applicable for 31/01/2023- 31/03/2023.

A closure for the old A30 between Victoria and junction to the east of the old iron bridge, has been
granted by Cornwall Council in order to aid construction of the St. Austell Link Road. Prior to the
existing road closure, works has been taking place offline to construct a new roundabout which has minimized the duration of the road closure required, however this now needs connecting into the
existing road structure to form the start of the new road from the A30. Due to the nature of the
planned works, large plant and deep excavations will be required and by closing the road this will
also ensure the safety of all.

Prior to construction of the new links to the roundabout, new deep drainage works is required
across the existing road. This will be followed by the raising of the levels of the existing road to tie in
with the new roundabout. The nature of these two sections of work will cut off the existing road
making it inaccessible thus the need for the road closure. Following this, surfacing and finishing
works will take place, so that this newly constructed section of road will then form part of the main
road between Victoria and Trekenning once reopened.
